🧡 Meet Ed — A Little Fighter Who Needs Our Help 🧡
At Lazy Doxie Co., we’re all about celebrating our long-bodied legends—and that includes being there for our community when times get tough. Today, we’re asking you to rally behind one very special boy: Ed.
Ed is a brave little dachshund who’s been through more than his fair share of challenges. After undergoing surgery for IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease), Ed was on the road to recovery… until things took a heartbreaking turn.
Just days after his operation, Ed suddenly stopped eating and began vomiting. He was rushed back to emergency care and diagnosed with ileus—a rare and life-threatening condition where the digestive system shuts down completely. It meant ICU, round-the-clock monitoring, tube feeding, and a whole lot of prayers.
💔 Ed’s insurance has now maxed out at $25,000, and his mum Leanne is doing everything she can to keep him fighting—but she needs our help.
Despite the odds, Ed is showing us he’s not ready to give up. Just recently, he ate on his own for the first time in over a week—a huge milestone and a sign that this little legend still has plenty of fight in him.
We know the dachshund community is full of heart, and if you’ve ever loved a dog, you know they’re more than pets—they’re our family, our shadows, our comfort on the worst days.
Here’s how you can help Ed:
🐾 Donate any amount—big or small—towards his ongoing vet care
🐾 Share his story to spread the word and reach more kind hearts
Every cent goes toward:
🐾 Emergency and hospital care
🐾 Feeding tube and nutrition
🐾 Medications, diagnostics, and post-ICU rehab
💛 From Leanne and Ed, and from all of us at Lazy Doxie Co.—thank you for being the kind of community that lifts others up when they need it most.
Together, we can give Ed the chance to heal, come home, and get back to being the happy, loving little sausage his mum knows and adores.
From one Lazy Legend to another, thank you for helping however you can. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply a kind message sent their way, it all means the world.
With love,
The Lazy Doxie Co. team (and Vetkoek & Oreo too 🐾)
