Dachshund Harnesses
Our harnesses have unique sizing and do not match others on the market - they are specifically designed for dachshunds so it is important to measure and check our size chart and guides for a perfect fit!
Click on each of the + next to each title to expand the content and see the graphic for each section.
How to Measure
Equipment: To measure your pup, you will need either a soft measuring tape or a soft length of ribbon/string and a ruler; a pen and a pad of paper to write down the measurements.
Measurements: Each of the measurements on our size chart for our harnesses are taken as circumferences (full loop).
Hint: We get that pups don't like to sit still either, so get armed with their favourite treats or a lick mat up against the fridge (this works especially well!) to keep them still and distracted!
Got a super wiggler? - Dont stress! if you have their weight and age and a photo, reach out to us via chat and we can help you with sizing!
Where to Measure
It is important that the measurements are taken at the points indicated below to match our size chart accurately.
- Neck: Measure from just above the front chest plate bone, around to get a circumference measurement at the lowest part of their neck (near their shoulder blades at the back) NOTE: this is lower than where their collar would sit, instead it is where the top of their harness should sit.
- Waist: Measure around the widest part of the chest (girth) approximately 2-3cm back from their front legs for a circumference measurement
Compare: Match both measurements to our size chart
In-between Sizes?
Please ensure you have measured the right locations on your pup (using our guide) to ensure the measurements are accurate against our chart.
Size UP if:
- Your Dachshund is still growing
- Both Measurements sit closer to the larger size range
- If you are selecting a harness from our TWEED range (the material is thicker and have slightly less give in them)
Size DOWN if:
- Your Dachshund is fully grown and sits closer to the smaller size range and/or are selecting a NEOPRENE harness
- One measurement fits clearly into the smaller size and does not overlap with the larger size
