Neoprene - Harnesses + Accessories
Our harnesses are currently made from two different main materials - Neoprene and Tweed.
Based on your harnesses main material, please follow those instructions as the care for both is quite different.
MATERIAL CARE
Neoprene is made from the same soft, durable material commonly used in surf wetsuits; Lightweight, flexible, and great for everyday adventures.
To help maintain the colour and integrity of the fabric, gently rinse or wipe away excess dirt, sand, salt, or mud between washes. Allowing debris to sit on the material can create friction over time, especially in high-movement areas, which may lead to premature wear. A little regular care will help keep your neoprene looking fresh and adventure-ready for longer.
DO's + DON'TS - NEOPRENE
DO:
- Hand wash gently in cold water
- Use a mild detergent with no bleach to help maintain bright printed colours
- Lay flat naturally to air dry
- Spot clean with a damp cloth between cleans
- Rinse after beach trips or muddy adventures to remove salt, sand, and dirt build-up
- Brush or wipe away excess debris between wears to reduce friction on the neoprene surface
DONT:
- Do not use bleach or bleach-based cleaning products - these are often hidden in cleaning agents and powders and may cause fading or damage to printed fabrics
- Do not rub or scrub aggressively - excessive friction can cause pilling, fading, and premature wear to the neoprene and printed design
- Do not soak for prolonged periods - extended exposure to moisture can damage the material and hardware over time
- Do not tumble dry or expose to excessive heat - heat may weaken the neoprene structure and affect print quality
- Do not clip, fold, or bend while drying - this may create indentations, creases, or weak points in the neoprene
FAQs - NEOPRENE
Neoprene - FAQs
What cleaning product(s) do you recommend?
We have had great success with 'Exit Soap' on our Neoprene harnesses. Exit Soap can be found at Spotlight Stores (Australia)
Can I put my Neoprene harnesses and accessories in the washing machine?
Some of our customers have put their harness in a delicate wash bag and on a delicate cycle in the washing machine - this is untested in the long term and we cannot recommend it
How often should I be washing my Neoprene harnesses and accessories?
To maintain the neoprene print vibrancy, we recommend you wash them at least once a fortnight (if used daily) with spot cleans inbetween to remove excess dirt, stains and sand.
We don't use the harness and accessories that regularly, do I need to wash it that often?
Even if your neoprene based gear is not used regularly, please note that dead skin, oil, hair and other bodily fluids from your pup if left for long periods can stain, trap excess dirt/sand and potentially cause damage if not cleaned from them before storing.
Tweed - Harnesses + Accessories
Our harnesses and accessories are currently made from two different main materials - Neoprene and Tweed.
Based on your harnesses main material, please follow those instructions as the care for both is quite different.
MATERIAL CARE
Tweed is made from a durable wool-blend fabric with a soft woven finish, designed to add a little extra warmth and luxury to your doxie’s adventures. To help maintain the fabric’s appearance and structure, gently brush or wipe away excess dirt, dust, grass, or sand between washes. Allowing debris to sit in the fibres can cause friction and wear over time, especially in high-movement areas. As with any woven fabric, a little extra care will help keep your tweed looking beautiful for longer.
DO's + DON'TS - TWEED
TWEED
DO:
- Hand wash gently in cold water
- Use a WOOL SPECIFIC cleaning product only
- Lay flat naturally to air dry
- Spot clean with a damp cloth between cleans
- Rinse after beach trips or muddy adventures to remove salt, sand, and dirt build-up
- Brush away excess dirt or debris between wears to help maintain the tweed fibres and vibrancy
DONT:
- Do not use standard cleaning products, bleach, or bleach-based products - these are not designed for wool-based materials and may damage the fibres
- Do not rub or scrub aggressively - excessive friction can cause pilling, fading, and premature wear to the tweed fabric
- Do not soak for prolonged periods - extended exposure to moisture can damage the material and hardware over time
- Do not tumble dry or expose to excessive heat - heat may weaken fibres and alter the shape of the harness
- Do not clip, fold, or bend while drying - this may create indentations, creases, or weak points in the tweed.

Quilted Tweed Jackets
MATERIAL CARE
Our Quilted Tweed Jackets are designed to keep your doxie warm, comfortable, and adventure-ready through the cooler months. Featuring a water-resistant quilted outer shell, soft teddy fleece inner lining, and luxe tweed accent details, they combine practicality with a timeless winter look.
To help maintain the shape, softness, and integrity of the jacket, gently remove excess dirt, sand, mud, or moisture between wears. Allowing debris to sit in the fabric or fleece can cause premature wear over time, particularly in high-movement areas. While the outer shell is water-resistant, we recommend allowing the jacket to fully air dry after wet-weather adventures before storing. A little regular care will help keep your jacket looking cosy and beautiful for many winters to come.
