Harness Strap Settling

Like most adjustable harnesses, your straps may naturally settle and loosen slightly during the first few wears as the material softens and moulds to your dog’s shape. We recommend rechecking your harness fit after the first walk or adventure and making any small adjustments needed.

This is especially important for fluffy coats or dogs wearing clothing underneath, as compressed fur can make the harness feel looser once your pup starts moving around

Winter Layering

For the safest and most comfortable fit, we recommend wearing harnesses over the top of hoodies and coats (however, underneath for our Jackets).

When fitting over winter clothing, you may need to slightly loosen the straps to allow for extra thickness and movement. After adjusting, always recheck your fit using the two-finger rule and ensure the chest plate still sits flat without restricting shoulder movement or rubbing behind the legs.

Because thicker fabrics and fluffy linings can compress during walks, we also recommend checking the fit again after your first wear

Travel Mat Settle Training

Travel Mats are a great tool for helping your Lazy Legend learn to settle calmly while out and about — whether that’s at cafés, parks, markets, road trips, or visiting friends.

Start by introducing the mat at home with treats, enrichment, or calm praise so your dog builds a positive association with it. Once they understand that the mat is their comfy “settle spot,” you can gradually begin using it in busier environments.

Consistency is key — the more positive experiences they have on their mat, the more naturally they’ll learn to relax and settle during adventures

Lick Mat Freezing Ideas

Want to make enrichment last even longer? Try freezing your lick mats after spreading your dog’s favourite goodies across the surface. Freezing helps slow down feeding time while providing extra mental stimulation and cooling enrichment on warmer days.

Some popular enrichment ideas include:
