HARNESSES SIZING GUIDE

(For reference: Vetkoek is 8.5 kg and wears a size S.)

All sizing charts can be found on our product pages that have sizing requirements. Look for the link just above the 'Product Size' selector. 

Lazy Doxie Co. harnesses are designed specifically for dachshunds, so our sizing differs from standard harnesses. Accurate measurements are essential to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.

How to Measure

1. Neck: Measure from the front chest plate bone, around the base of the neck at its widest point.
   
2. Waist: Measure around the widest part of the chest (girth), approximately two finger-widths behind the front legs.
   
3. Compare: Match both measurements to our size chart above.
   

If Your Dachshund Falls Between Sizes

• Size Up If:
  • Your dachshund is still growing.
  • Both measurements sit closer to the larger size range.
  
• Size Down If:
  • Your dachshund is fully grown and sits closer to the smaller size range.
  • One measurement fits clearly into the smaller size and does not overlap with the larger size.
  

Helpful Weight Guide

While measurements should always be used first, weight can help guide you:

• Up to 4.5 kg: XXS

• 5–7.5 kg: XS

• 7.5–10.5 kg: S

• 10.5 kg and above: M

Fit Check

Our harnesses should sit firmly at the neck and waist with no more than two fingers fitting comfortably under each strap.

Because the design allows extra room behind the front legs, a loose fit may allow your dachshund to slip out.
